Testimony continues in Karen Read murder trial

Read is facing several charges, including second-degree murder, in the death of O'Keefe outside a Canton home in 2022. O'Keefe, a Boston police officer, was dating Read at the time of his death. Prosecutors say Read hit and killed O'Keefe with her SUV outside Brian Albert's home on Fairview Road.

Karen Read, 43, of Mansfield, is accused of second-degree murder and other charges. The prosecution says she hit her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O'Keefe, with her vehicle outside of a home in Canton during a snowstorm on Jan. 29, 2022, following a night of drinking.

More than 160 combined witnesses could be called by the prosecution and defense. The trial is expected to last between 6 and 8 weeks.
