Showers/thunderstorms will increase in coverage as we head into the afternoon hours. There is a marginal risk for severe storms (large hail, damaging wind). An isolated tornado (along/south of I-70) can not be ruled out. Heavy rain fall could lead to localized flooding issues. pic.twitter.com/diEpdMuZLf

A few notes about ongoing weather… *The tornado watch was expanded southward to include places like Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Anniston, Gadsden, Sylacauga, Ashland, and Roanoke. *The line of storms over North Alabama remains well behaved as it drifts southward. Storms are well… pic.twitter.com/SqP6eojdQR

💨STORM REMINDER - Straight line winds can cause just as much, if not more, damage as 🌪️tornadoes. 🍃Straight line winds can reach speeds of 100mph & bring down trees, power lines & damage structures. ⚠ Please heed Severe Thunderstorm Warnings as you would Tornado Warnings! pic.twitter.com/UNvKQ2wikd
