An X2.9 X-ray flare was observed at 15/1438 UTC (15/1038 EDT), this time from an unnumbered region from beyond the Sun's SE limb, likely old Region 3655. Due to the source location, Geomagnetic impacts are not likely at Earth. Stay tuned to our webpage for updates! pic.twitter.com/L4WT8AHoRf

As we wave goodbye to 3664 as it departs the western limb with one more X-class solar flare, the eastern limb is off and running now with an X-class solar flare of its own.
