Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez to wed in Venice

According to the BBC, wedding organizers have booked the entire island of San Giorgio Maggiore, which is located across from Venice's famed St. Mark's Square. People magazine reported that the official ceremony will take place on Bezos' $500 million yacht, Koru, which will be anchored in the Venetian lagoon.

The banner reads: “If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax." The high-profile wedding has drawn protests among some local residents and organizations like Greenpeace, who are speaking out against over- tourism, disruption to everyday life and more.
