Jeff Bezos marries Lauren Sanchez in Venice, Italy

To cover the costs of the wedding and all its related parts, Luca Zaia—president of the Veneto regional government, which governs the city of Venice—told reporters June 24 that he expects the couple to pay €40 to €48 million, approximately $46.5 to $55.6 million in the United States, per Reuters.

Bezos was previously married to influential philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, 55, who helped build Amazon in its early days. The two married in 1993 in Seattle and were married for 25 years before their divorce was finalized in 2019.

Career. Sánchez began her career as a desk assistant at KCOP-TV in Los Angeles. She also held positions as an anchor and reporter at KTVK-TV in Phoenix before joining the syndicated entertainment show Extra as a reporter.
