Whitmore moves from Rockets to Wizards in three-team trade

As part of the deal, the Rockets have traded guard/forward Cam Whitmore to Washington in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick from Chicago and a 2029 second round pick from Sacramento. Houston also receives the draft rights to Mojave King from New Orleans.

The trade is a homecoming for Whitmore, an Odenton, Maryland, native who played at Archbishop Spalding. He told reporters at the 2023 draft combine that he grew up going to Wizards games with his dad, and he expressed a desire to play for his hometown team.
