Mitch Marner's time with the Toronto Maple Leafs has come to an end. The Maple Leafs have agreed to sign-and-trade Marner to the Vegas Golden Knights, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Monday. Marner then penned an eight-year, $96-million deal worth $12 million in AAV.

Is Mitch Marner a restricted free agent?

Marner, who has spent his entire nine-year career with the Maple Leafs, will become an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday if he isn't traded. In May, The Athletic reported Toronto tried to sign Marner to a long-term deal that likely would have made the forward a Maple Leaf for life, but Marner declined.
