United Airlines suspends flights to Dubai due to conflict

Iranian airspace has been closed until further notice, according to state media and notices to pilots. Air India, which flies over Iran on its Europe and North American flights, said several flights were being diverted or returned to their origin, including ones from New York, Vancouver, Chicago and London.

Meanwhile, Air France has suspended its Tel Aviv flights “until further notice” and the carrier is “closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East in real time”. Other major European carriers, including British Airways, easyJet and Ryanair are not currently flying to Israel.

Travel in and out of Israel had already been severely curtailed after the Hamas-led attack of Oct. 7, 2023, which set off the war in Gaza. Many international airlines suspended flights to and from the country. Amid the travel upheaval, some visitors have also found themselves stuck in Israel.
