The Department of Justice is prioritizing revoking citizenship from some naturalized Americans who commit certain crimes, according to a DOJ memo posted online.

Naturalized citizens are foreign nationals who have become citizens of the United States after fulfilling requirements established by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act. We have profiles of people who became lawful permanent residents during each fiscal year from 2003-2022.

Naturalization may be revoked by conviction for procuring or attempting to procure the naturalization of anyone contrary to the law. may be revoked if the citizen was subsequently discharged under other than honorable conditions within a specified five-year period.
