The Iranian missile hit Soroka Medical Center, a major hospital in southern Israel, and about 80 people suffered minor injuries, hospital officials said.

Iran's inventory of ballistic missiles has comprised both solid-fueled missiles, which offer advantages in maintenance and longevity, and liquid-fueled missiles that have greater thrust and power than solid propellants.

Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, Israel, was directly hit during a missile barrage early Thursday, Israel's Foreign Ministry said. A spokesperson for the hospital said on social media in the immediate aftermath that there was “extensive damage” and that it was carrying out an assessment, including of casualties.
