To complete the first draft of any report, IPCC authors assess thousands of pieces of scientific literature. IPCC does not conduct its own research. In the last report 786 authors assessed over 100,000 sources. What literature does the IPCC assess? 👉 bit.ly/IPLit pic.twitter.com/1Hk6YZDY9b

To keep below 1.5°C, with a 50-50 chance, would require global CO2 emissions to be zero in ~2038 (orange line). The other scenarios (blue) overshoot to ~1.6°C before going back <1.5°C in 2100 (& they start with a global carbon price in 2020). 1/ pic.twitter.com/e1gpWj2Uxv

In scenarios that "limit warming to 1.5°C (>50%) with no or limited overshoot", to use IPCC speak, most scenarios go over 1.5°C and return later... These scenarios also have radical emission reductions starting in 2020 & large-scale use of Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR). 1/ pic.twitter.com/Gp1d2KHrYp
