The judge overseeing Donald Trump’s hush money trial has clarified that the gag order pertaining to the ex-president doesn’t prohibit him from testifying.

Judge Merchan begins today by clarifying to former President Trump that he does have the "absolute" right to testify if he chooses. Trump claimed falsely yesterday that he couldn’t, and his attorney shook his head in affirmation.

Judge Merchan just corrected Trump:
Yesterday, Trump claimed, "I'm not allowed to testify because of an unconstitutional gag order."
Merchan made clear this morning: "As the name of the order indicates, it only applies to extrajudicial statements," not those in the courtroom.
