Sabrina Carpenter's new album cover sparks debate

It is set to be released on August 29, 2025, through Island Records. The album's lead single, "Manchild", charted at number one in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. She produced the track with Jack Antonoff, who also co-produced her previous studio album, Short n' Sweet (2024).

The single came accompanied by cover art for her upcoming album, Man's Best Friend, in which the pint-sized Carpenter, clad in a black minidress, appears on her knees, pawing for the attention of an anonymous man in a suit, his hand loosely gripping her blonde bombshell hair.

When the album was shipped to stores, she was met with bolder reactions. “Suddenly, I'm getting calls from Time and Newsweek, saying, 'This is one of the sexiest covers that has ever known,'” Norman Seeff, the photographer who shot the cover for Playing Possum, told Rolling Stone.
