Bryan Kohberger pleads guilty to Idaho student murders

Judge goes over plea agreement The agreement says Kohberger would plead guilty to burglary felony and first-degree murder of four counts, Hippler says. He would be sentenced to 10 years for the burglary charge and a fixed life sentence on the four counts of homicide, according to the agreement.

Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle and Madison Mogen were killed in their off-campus home in the city of Moscow, in November 2022. The two others in the house, Bethany Funke and Dylan Mortensen, survived.

Mogen and Goncalves hailed from Idaho, while Kernodle was from the southern state of Arizona. Her boyfriend, Chapin, was from Washington state. All four of the victims were either 20 or 21 at the time of their deaths. Autopsies showed each was stabbed multiple times, including some defensive injuries.
