Bryan Kohberger admits to killing four University of Idaho students

A 30-year-old man has admitted to murdering four roommates in a small Idaho college town in 2022, as part of a plea deal to avoid the death penalty. Bryan Kohberger, a former PhD criminology student, was set to stand trial in August over the attacks that shocked America.

In order to avoid a potential death sentence, he accepted a plea of consecutive life terms for the murders of Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin, waiving his right to appeal. The reactions of the victims' families to the deal prosecutors offered were mixed.
