Pixar's Elio review

Elio will eventually make its way to Disney+ at a later date. The Pixar film will likely arrive on the streaming site around three months after its theatrical release, or likely sometime in September 2025.

Elio is solid. It has heart, humor, and a great message without hitting you over the head with it. It's not quite Toy Story or Monsters Inc. level for me, but it's definitely a worthy addition to the Pixar lineup. Great for kids, enjoyable for adults, and a nice reminder that being different is something to celebrate.

But the turnout for “Elio” was worse — much worse — than even Pixar had expected. The film, which cost at least $250 million to make and market, collected an estimated $21 million from Thursday evening through Sunday at theaters in the United States and Canada, according to Comscore, which compiles box office data.
