Now hear me out. This might be crazy, but I think there might be a way to stop sex abuse in the church from distracting from the mission of the church … Stop the abuse? Report the abusers? Fire the ones who cover up sex abuse?

I've been asked why Southern Baptists have been reticent historically to refer to the SBC as a denomination. I think the primary reason is because many believe the word "denomination" implies a hierarchical or connectional arrangement. This has been the case for generations. 1/
