A week after, we are still reading the #ESOTC report from @CopernicusECMWF/@WMO:
data show that glaciers in all parts of Europe saw a net loss of ice in 2023.
In particular, glaciers in the Alps have lost around 10% of their volume.

In contrast to just a month ago, sea ice is now well below average in the Sea of Okhotsk. Areas of relative higher concentration, however, are found in the Bering Sea and Fram Strait (again).

After an unusually high sea ice maximum in the Sea of Okhotsk this year, recent melting has been particularly fast & dropped to record low levels. Very high variability!
