That ripped-up DIY crosswalk in West LA? Council member says she asked city to keep it

• The bright yellow crosswalks were painted by volunteers over two Saturdays near busy Stoner Park.
• L.A. City Councilmember Traci Park, who represents the area, said crews removed the paint job despite her request.
• She said she told city officials the intersection was "at least slightly more safe" until more could be done.
