'A healing space': Santa Fe's domestic violence shelter reopening in May

Santa Fe's 'mini-Madoff' to serve four years in federal prison on fraud charges

  • Douglas Lien, 82, was sentenced Tuesday to four years in prison for securities and wire fraud tied to a Ponzi scheme.
  • The unregistered Santa Fe investment adviser was dubbed a “mini-Madoff” by his victims.
  • Lien also will have to pay nearly $5 million to 23 living victims who requested restitution.
